Day trip
Spent the day at Houghton Hall to visit the Damien Hirst Exhibition.

Was really interesting to see his more recent spot paintings in the setting of a country house. To see really stimulating paintings that would normally be reserved for white walled gallery to be set in really detailed and ornate rooms was worth the drive out.

This was the most interesting room. the paintings really sit well in the room and even stand out more against the wall paper then i feel they would from a white wall.
The other real sick piece was the two glass vitrines filled with white balls and plastic balls. (will find title) That was still for most of the time and then at timed intervals would come alive and start blowing balls around the vitrines. The noise and movement in a space that is normally very quite and still. Also the cheap plastic nature of the balls and the expensive classic sculpture of the room was nice to watch.

The grounds also had 5 or 6 giant sculptures that I had never seen before.
